Ingredients
  • 1 cup couscous
  • 2 medium sized carrots, grated
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • A pinch salt
  • 2 cups hot water

About Couscous with Carrots:

Couscous is used for salads in Turkish cuisine. We may consider it as a kind of pasta or vermicelli and its pilaf is also very yummy especially when cooked with some vegetables like carrot, sweet corn etc. Children will love this soft couscous pilaf. You may use other vegetables instead of carrot or may not use any of them as always.

  2. A stirring spoon

  3. A chopping board

  4. A knife

  5. A grate

  6. Paper towel

    Pour the olive oil and add the grated carrots into a pot. Then saute for a minute.

    Add the couscous onto the sauted carrots and saute again for a couple minutes.

  3. 3

    Then add the butter and stir until it melts.

  4. 4

    Finally sprinkle the salt and hot water.

  5. 5

    Stir for a few times and cover the pot. Cook on high heat on first 10 minutes, then simmer.

    Turn off the stove when all of the water drains. Put the paper towel under the cover and cover again.

  7. 7

    Set aside for 10 minutes. It’s ready to serve.
