  • 5 medium sized potatoes
  • 2 small carrots
  • A handful of parsley
  • 2-3 tablespoons lemon squash
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or margarine)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • A pinch salt
  • A pinch black pepper
  • A pinch red pepper
  • A pinch cumin
  • A pinch sumac
  • A cup cocktail olive

About Mashed Potato Balls:

So many dishes can be made with potato. This is about one of these almost limitless recipes related to potato, actually mashed potato. It can be considered as a delicious and hearty appetizer. Honestly, these balls are basically rolled potato mash, but when some spices added in it and when we garnish the mash balls with some other stuff, they look very appetizing. Thanks to American indigen for discovering this “useful” food :)

  2. A boiling pot

  3. A grater

  4. A chopping board

  5. A fork

    Wash the potatoes well, put them into the pot and pour water up to their top. If you want them boil faster, peel and cut into some pieces.

    Boil for 25-30 minutes until the potatoes soften.

  3. 3

    When they completely boil, peel if you didn’t. While they’re still hot, mash them.

    Add butter (or margarine) and oil to the mash and mix well.

    Set aside the mix for 10-15 minutes till it cools down. Meanwhile peel and grate the carrots, and thinly chop parsley.

    Add grated carrot, chopped parsley, lemon squash, salt, black pepper, red pepper, cumin and sumac onto it and mash well.

    Get walnut sized pieces from the mash and roll on your palm. Garnish with coctail olives as you wish.
