In Turkey, especially in winter, you can see chestnut sellers on every square of the country. Once you buy and taste chestnuts from those sellers I’m sure that you would want to eat it again and again. I’ve always asked myself “How do they roast it and how are they so delightful?”. Actually it was so easy for me to discover the “secret recipe” of roasted chestnuts at home.
A baking pan
A kitchen glove
Preheat the oven to 200 °C (400 °F).
Cross the skins of chestnuts with a sharp and small knife. You may cross deeply if you wish. It’ll make chestnuts roast faster.
Put the chestnuts onto a baking pan and align with some space between them. Put the pan in the oven.
You may set your oven’s chronometer to 30 minutes. Rotate chestnuts in every 10 or 15 minutes.
Roast until their skins open and you see their inside a bit redden.
Turn off the oven and wait until the chestnuts are cool. Then put them in a bowl or anything suitable and peel away their skin.
