- 15-20 pieces spinach root
- 1 carrot (chopped as rounds)
- 1 medium sized onion (diced)
- 2 tablespoons rice
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- A pinch salt
- 1 cup water
The roots of spinach and the leaves of it are in different shape and taste. I think everybody is aware of its healthiness and the minerals it has. No part of this yummy and healthy vegetable should go to trash can. It is one of the indispensables of vegetarians kitchen and this recipe is also for vegetarians. It is very very easy to prepare and very practical. You may garnish it with some other vegetables like carrots, zucchinis, onions or potaoes etc.
A pot or sautepan
A mixing spoon
Add the diced onions and olive oil into the sautepan.
Saute and stir until it turns pink.
When they are sauted add the carrot slices and saute for a while.
Add the spinach roots and saute again.
Finally add the rice and saute while stirring.
Sprinkle the salt, pour the water and mix.
Simmer until it boils then set to low heat, cover the sautepan and cook. Stir a number of times.
Serve hot or warm. You may use lemon juice or vinegar if you wish.
