- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- A few crushed walnuts
- 100 gram (0.22 pounds) diced feta cheese

- 1-2 garlic cloves
- A pinch red pepper
- A pinch black pepper
- A pinch cumin
- A pinch sumac
Cemen (in Turkish çemen) is a kind of spicy and aromatic meze of Turkish cuisine. It consists of some basic ingredients like tomato paste, red pepper, black pepper, garlic etc. This recipe is very simple and you can make your own Turkish cemen at your home with a few ingredients. You may try it with some bread. But be careful with it’s smell! Here, we can start with our recipe:

Pour the oil onto the sautepan and add the garlic sliced very little. Saute until the smell of the garlic slices passes.
Add tomato paste on to the sauted garlics and saute until the tomato paste is crushed.
Pay attention to the heat of the stove, it must not be high, you may overcook and burn the tomato paste.
When the tomato paste is sauted completely, add red pepper, black pepper, cumin and sumac. Stir for a while.
Add the cheese onto the mix and saute until it is crushed.
Then add the walnut crushes and stir for a few times.
