- ¼ cup olive oil
- 125 grams (0.275 pounds) butter or margarine
- ½ cup powder sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups flour
- Chocolate sauces
Turkish shortbread is common across the world and it is really easy to prepare. You may garnish it with different toppings or sauces. I used chocolate sauce for its top, but fruit sauces or other toppings can be used as well. It preservers its freshness for long time. For example, these cookies can be consumed after a week or two weeks. I recommend these tiny cookies for cookie-lovers.
An oven tray
A kneading bowl
Mix butter, olive oil and powder sugar together in a bowl. After kneading for a while, add flour and vanilla extract little by little and knead more for 5 minutes. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 200 °C (392 °F).
Take pieces big as you wish and roll them on your palm (I preferred walnut sized pieces).
Take the rolled doughs onto the tray with greased paper on it and bake for 15 minutes until their tops turn brown.
You may garnish their tops with different sauces. You may also melt some chocolate and use it for topping.
